2016 Division Restructuring

The NCISL Board of Directors has recently reviewed the operating model for the Corporate divisions in our Summer league.

The current operating model is shown below and includes the maximum number of teams permitted in each division:

Division 1 - 8 teams
Division 2 - 8 teams
Division 3A - 16 teams
Division 3B - 16 teams
Division 4A - 16 teams
Division 4B - 16 teams

Maximum # of teams is 80.

This model served us well when we had over 70 teams playing in the Corporate divisions however due to the steady decline over the past 10 years the Board of Directors believe that it is the NCISL best interest to restructure as follows:

Division 1 - 8 teams
Division 2 - 16 teams
Division 3 - 16 teams
Division 4 - 16 teams

Maximum # of teams is 56.

It is our intention to restructure the Corporate divisions to this model in 2016.

There is always disruption with any transition but the Board of Directors believe that the transition path with the least disruption is to merge all division 3B teams into division 2 since both of these divisions play on a Tuesday night. Therefore this is the preferred solution for the Board of Directors, however the Board are prepared to listen to other suggestions.

This restructuring will be discussed at the upcoming AGM on February 23rd. If  teams have concerns or questions with the restructuring they are asked to contact our General Manager Dawn Dinsdale or to raise them at the AGM.

With the proposed restructuring the 2016 Corporate Divisions will be as follows assuming all 2015 teams will return.
