Ontario Soccer appeals to the Provincial Government

Ontario Soccer has appealed to Ontario's Chief Medical Officer to let us play.

In a joint letter sent to Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer, President Peter Augruso and Chief Executive Johnny Misley put forward the case for a relaxation of the restrictions placed on recreational soccer.

The appeal asks for an increase in the number of players permitted in a soccer bubble for the 2021 season.

The letter has also been reported extensively by the Toronto Sun

Ontario Soccer has requested that the NCISL soccer players lobby their MPs, MPPs, City Councillors, and Ottawa Public Health to help us get back on the field.

Ontario Soccer’s request of support letter, can be used by our membership to contact their own local MPs, MPPs, Municipal Officials and Public Health Units.

The letter, which can be found here, may be replicated and used for your own local efforts, details why soccer is well-positioned for a safe Return to Play this summer and how our communities can be leaders in a holistic solution to dealing with the damaging effects Covid-19 has had on Ontario.

We encourage our membership to respectfully contact their local authorities to share this news and in their efforts to make change at the grassroots level.
