Children's Wish Foundation
The National Capital Region Chapter has been granting wishes since 1985. This vast geographic area is the responsibility of our Provincial Office in Ottawa, with a staff of 3, backed by a team of dedicated volunteers and a supportive board. Like the rest of the Foundation, we never turn down a wish child. We are able to do this thanks to the generous support of the public, corporate sponsors, planned gifts, donated goods and services and funds raised through special events. Together, we are working to make life better for children all over National Capital Region.

The Snowsuit Fund
The Snowsuit Fund is an Ottawa-based charity that raises funds for the purchase and distribution of snowsuits to needy children, 15 years and under, in our community.
We are just one social organization working to deal with the consequences of poverty in our region. But like so many of our sister organizations, the demand for our services continues to grow. In our 2010/2011 season, we distributed over 15,000 new snowsuits.
Now in our 30th year of operation, we have managed to meet the challenge of keeping underprivileged kids warm during our cold winters. We have also brought dignity and hope to families who simply do not have the means to provide their children with the necessities for living. The benefits of our service are far-reaching for both individuals and our community as a whole. Ultimately, one cannot put a price tag on a child's smile.

CHEO Foundation
The sole purpose of the CHEO Foundation is to raise funds to help support the work of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Donations help the hospital provide a wide variety of pediatric programs, research, state-of the art equipment, medical and nursing education, and assistance for families in crisis.
In the early 1960s, a group of concerned citizens in Ottawa formed a committee with the purpose of establishing a children’s hospital in the community. It was no easy task to convince governments and ministries to help fund a children’s hospital in Ottawa, but the committee persevered with the enthusiastic support of the community. This committee formed the base for the present CHEO Foundation, which was incorporated in 1974.
By the time CHEO opened its doors in 1974, the volunteer fundraisers had overcome numerous obstacles, and more than $4 million had been donated by the local community – a truly significant amount especially for that time.
